Has anyone tried the South Beach diet? What did you think about it? I went to dinner last night and the waitress was telling my friend about how she lost a lot of weight just after the first two weeks and she didn't even exercise. She said there was a lot of things you could still eat so it wasn't too bad. I thought about trying it and I wanted to go to the library today to get a few of the books but the library is closed on Saturdays...

I've done South Beach a few times and I had great success. For the first two weeks you're basically cutting sugars out of your diet. You're supposed to eat green veggies and lean meats. Then you can start adding the different things back into your diet. It works if you can keep with it. I unfortunately had such a hectic life at both the times I tried it, I really didn't have the time to keep up with it.
