Snacks at preschool/church
Both of my kids have the opportunity to share snacks at preschool and 2nd grade public school for birthdays. We have been given a list of possible healthy snacks to use as a guide to avoid cupcakes/candy and sugary snacks. However our church is not following the same guidelines and on a Sunday morning my kids often get not just one junk food snack, but two (one during Sunday School, and one during the Worship hour). I think it is unneccessary to offer two snacks, but I would like to see things offered that have some nutritional value too. What is your experience for snacks that are provided for your children? What is your preference?

Snack time
At our church we only provide snacks for the 18 month - 3 year old children(our Nursery). The rest of the children only get snacks on special occasions. Your child's Sunday school teacher should always consult you prior to providing snacks, just in case the child is on a restricted diet. We only give our Nursery kids standard snacks of Goldfish, raisins, crackers, and water to drink, but we still consult parents first. I would never dream of giving my own children or my 4 year old class(I'm a Sunday school teacher) sweet snacks at church. Talk to their teacher about possible alternatives to the sweets.
snacks
Luke gets snacks at preschool both days he goes. I always ask what they had and he's told me granola bars, cookies, gummies and peanut butter and crackers. Maybe they could offer a list of 10 or 15 "approved" snacks, and you can choose what to send from the list? One junk food snack wouldn't be a big deal, I guess, but I agree, 2 may be a bit much for they younger kids.
