When did you let your baby sleep with a blanket or pillow? I have read all the rules....no blanket until 12 month and use a 100% cotton one when you do use a blanket because its breathable. My daughter is 10 1/2 months and I dont use a blanket right now. My daughter loves blanket and little pillows. My son has a tiny (like an airplane) pillow and she just loves. Our bedroom (which her crib is still in) is cold in the winter. We have a tower heater but I dont leave it on all night and I think its comfortable in there with blankets on. So far she has not woke up cold or she wasnt cold in the morning but its just going to get colder. I dont know if I am ready to move her to her room (its on the other side of the house). I am nervous about starting to use a blanket.

blankets

We have let all our kids have blankets in their cribs, not comforters or anything really thick, but they always had something to snuggle under once they were your daughters age. We put a little tinkerbell pillow in our youngest one's crib a month or so ago, she is 19 months now and she absolutely loves it. She wants to get into bed just to sleep with that little pillow.

We read all the warnings too, but our kids would wake up freezing.

blankie

Ours have always blankets as well. My made them and they are all cotton with quilt batting inside. They've slept with them on their faces for most of the first year 12+, and we swaddled in them in the beginning. They are comfort objects now and yes sometimes the blankie is still wrapped around their heads during the night. I don't think most children get as cold as you might think. PJ's are probably the key.

fleece zip up bag

What about a fleece zip up bag thingy. My sister uses them for her little one all of the time. She puts her daughter in PJs and then puts her in this bag looking thing (not sure what they are called). But they have arm holes and a place for your head. It would like of be like having a blanket it on because it is made of fleece.

Sorry that I don't know the name of it. Let me know if you want more information and I will call my sister and ask her the name of it.

blankies

All my kids have had small fleece blankies from the get-go, which in turn became lovies with 2 of my kids. I agree that warmer PJ's are key. My kids never stayed in one spot while they slept(& still don't), so the blanket sleepers with the footies do the trick best in our house.

she does where those one

she does where those one piece fleece sleepers with the feet and is warm now but I know when its zero degrees out this winter. I dont think she will keep the blanket on her feet I think she will wrap it around her chest and face, that is what worries me. She falls asleep now by taking a burp rag and covering her face.

I have let my little girl

I have let my little girl sleep with a infant blanket, not a big quilt or crib comforter. She took to a pillow case for her "blankie" , so she goes to bed with that and cuddles that, then I put a infant one on her. You are right , it gets cold and we do keep our house cold , 66 now that she is bigger. I put her in blanket sleeper with a long sleeved onsie under it, seem to work good. It is scary, cant say I didnt loose sleep, and still do. She doesnt lay still long enough to have a pillow lol, all though when she gets stuffed up bad I prop her up, and when she gets off the pillows she wakes up.

my son is almost 5 months

my son is almost 5 months and will not sleep without his blanket! he loves to cover his face up with it, at first i worried about it, but he seems to be fine and when he wakes up it's usually down by his feet anyway. at night i lay him in his crib, put his paci in his mouth, and tuck his blanket up around his head by his chin, and his eyes close almost instantly. :) I think it would be fine to cover your daughter with a blanket, I wouldn't use a really thick one, just a baby blanket or something. But chances are if you are fine without a blanket in your room, she is too. Hope this helps! :)

Blankets

My daughter has always slept with a blanket. Like the other moms have said she moves around too much to keep them on her. When I check on her before bed and when I wake up for work in the morning she's usually either laying on them or she might have her head on them. She won't use a pillow in her bed, we've tried it. Not even a small one. She wears warm jammies and is usually sweating by morning.

blankets

I had my son in a sleep sack till he could crawl then he just got frustrated not being able to move around. So then i gave him a blanket. but i was also nervous of what the docs say about blankets. But what i found that made me feel better and he really liked was a hand crocheted blanket my gma had made for him. It was small so it wouldnt over power him in the bed and it had a star pattern that had holes in it so if for some reason he got it over his face he could easily breathe. he still loves it and i dont have to worry. hope that helps.
