Reverse Trick-or-Treating

Co-op America is once again teaming up with Global Exchange to present reverse trick-or-treating, where children reverse the Halloween tradition by handing Fair Trade chocolate back to their neighbors. The candy is attached to a card that includes information about social and environmental justice issues in the industry and how Fair Trade chocolate helps farmers in cocoa growing communities. Last year over 47,000 households learned about Fair Trade chocolate thanks to Fair Trade trick-or-treaters and with YOUR help we can reach even more people this year. This is a great way to speak with your neighbors about the scary side of the chocolate industry and the promise of Fair Trade!

You can order the free chocolate kits for individuals from the reverse trick-or-treating website or the free chocolate kits for groups directly from reverse trick-or-treating sponsor Equal Exchange. We ask that you note that you were referred to the program by Co-op America and make a donation to cover the cost of shipping.

Learn more at www.reversetrickortreating.org and contact us if you have any questions. If you are interested in media outreach for reverse trick-or-treating, or at any other time this Fair Trade Month, please contact fairtrade@coopamerica.org and we will provide you with materials and training for Fair Trade media outreach.
