Does anyone know of a good pumpkin patch around the South Bend/Mishawaka/Granger area?

Matthys

Matthys Farm on Crumstown Highway on the west side of South Bend is AWESOME! They have animals, a play area/structures, funny cutouts that kids can get their pics taken with, you get a hay ride out to a giant pumpkin patch where the kids can pick their own pumpkins out of the field, there is a corn maze too. Its free, you just pay for the pumpkins you buy. They also have corn stalks, hay bales, pretty mums, etc. I highly recommend it!!

I agree!!!

I agree with Noelle! We went to Matthy's last year and LOVED it!!! We go during the week with a group, so there is a fee . . . every kid gets to take home a pumpkin and a coloring book. It's $5 a kid and adults are free. I've actually got a group trip planned for the moms at our church on Wednesday, October 15. We still have LOTS of space (they said our group could have up to 30 kids) so if you are interested, send me a private message and I'll give you the details.

Noelle, was it busy when you went on the weekend last year? Do you remember how much the pumpkins cost?

hmmm...

Last year I went with my oldest son for his field trip, during the week. A couple years ago we went on the weekend and it was descent. I think their pumpkin prices are from like $2-5.oo for descent sized ones.

I agree that Matthys is a fun place for the kiddos.  Luke's preschool class is actually going there for a field trip Wed.  Last year Luke loved it!  Hay ride, corn maze, pick a pumpkin right out of the patch, the playground and small "zoo"....it was great!

Pumpkin Patch

My family and I went to Thistleberry Farm on Mayflower Rd south of Ireland and it was a lot of fun. There are 4 or 5 Corn Mazes, pumpkin patch, corn cannon, animals and lots of fun. They do have a website that lets you know the prices and everything like that. My daughter is only 15 months and she had a ball!

Thistleberry Farms

I agree they do have a new farm there. We have went the last 2 years, but its kinda costly. The mazes were $6 a person and then you have the hay ride, pony ride, cow ride, the cost of pumpkins, and the food/drink. Its gets really expensive. Has anyone ever been to the Harvest Days in Nappanee and what were there prices like? My sister-in-law asked us to go there this weekend but online it doesnt say how much stuff cost.

pumpkin patch

There also is a local farmer who has a pumpkin patch on Douglas Rd. just east of Capital, in Mishawaka. I heard they are having a corn maze this year. It's a smaller place, but It seemes they keep adding new things every year! Lots of cute picture snapping displays set up!

2nd that

We've been to this one for a few years in a row also.  Like Lisa said, it's small but very nice and priced reasonable.  Good places to get a few cute pictures too.  I saw the signs this year about the corn maze, but I don't know details of it.
