I leave in a few weeks to go for specialize training for my new job for 4 weeks. My husband works long hours and we are hiring a care giver for 4 weeks while I am gone for our 10 and 12 year old. I want to make it easy on everyone so I want to cook up at least one weeks worth of foods that can be frozen and then thaw and reheated. I usually always only cook fresh items that we eat right away. So, not sure what to do. I have two soups listed on my list. Plus Chili but I still need some more ideas that they can eat. These foods to be able to be made before hand, frozen, then thawed and reheated and taste good. THANK YOU for your help!

Roast

This would probably be just as easy for the boys to throw together in a crock pot, rather than making it and freezing it ahead of time.

Big Roast, packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix, couple cups of water, a bag of frozen stew vegetables....throw it in a crock pot and in 8 hours it's done.  With the leftover meat and juice, mix it in with some cooked egg noodles and they have beef and noodles.  Serve it with something like raw carrots and dip.

What about a frozen lasagna?  Even one that's already prepared at the store, serve with garlic bread and more raw veggies and dip.

You could also make up some chicken or beef filling for tacos.  Get some tortilla chips or soft tortillas and have the cheese and lettuce already sorted out in the fridge for them.

If they enjoy cooking on the grill, marinade some chicken in a freezer bag and freeze them.  You could make up some cheesey hashbrown potatoes and all they have to do is throw them in the oven for an hour.

Good luck with your new job!
