Pool Party
I have a friend that is throwing a party for her daughter. Her daughter's birthday is mid-October, and she is dying for a pool party. Does anyone know of any hotels in the area that are reasonable and would rent out a conference room and allow them to use the pool at the same time? Any suggestions would be great. They're on the west side of South Bend.

Im not sure the name of it, but my friends parents rent out a conference room every new years. Its the hotel on the north side of the street on University park drive. I think there are only 2 on that side, so you might want to call and fiqure out which one it is? I know they rent out a big room and have a pool!

Try them, the only down side is if it's a ND home game week it will be impossible to book a Saturday.
Comfort Suites & Gipper Lounge
Two hotels that I know that do this are the Comfort Suites on the corner of Main and University Drive. My friend called just the other day and they quoted a price of $275. They will only do it on non-Notre Dame Game weekends. The other place I have been told that does a nice party is the hotel over in Roseland that has the Gipper Lounge. I can't remember the exact name though. They let you have something like ten guests at the pool and included two pizzas w/2 litre pop. Call for exact details. Otherwise, most hotels in the area do not do them in the fall due to the games, but the economy and ND are bad this year so they might.: )

My sister used the Y in elkhart and she isn't a member, they also used a room. It was nice for winter birthdays.Lynn

I was thinking of doing the pool party for my daughter's 3rd birthday in November but knew it was going to be hard to find a spot because of ND games, I will call the Y!
South Bend YMCA
They do pool parties too, my son went to one there this year. I don't know the cost, but I think it is much more reasonable than a hotel. I know they could swim for an hour and then they got to use a room for an hour for cake and presents.
