I have a 10month old that I think will drink formula and eat nothing but jared applesauce or bannanas till she is 16yrs old. I can not get her to eat anything. I have tryed mashed potatos, green beans ect....everything you can think of. She just looks at me, wipes it out of her mouth and starts to cough. I just keep trying until she pushes my hand away and turns her head. I have tryed putting it on her tray so she can feed herself but she picks it up, makes a discusting face and drops it on the floor. Any help that you can think of would be GREAT!!! :)

Don't worry

She is getting what she needs from the formula I wouldn't stress out about it too much she will eat it when she is ready the other food really does not have much nutritional value except to teach her new foods and textures and fill her belly for longer. Don't stress out about it to much but always offer it to her.

not to worry

At 10 months old, I wouldn't worry TOO much yet.  I can imagine it is very frustrating, but she is still young.  I could just be she doesn't care for the texture, or she is just trying to push your buttons :)  Will she eat Gerber Puffs or something while NOT sitting in her high chair?  Maybe it is just neat for her to see it drop on the floor?  Have you asked your pediatrician about it yet?  What about getting her to eat rice cereal and mixing in lots of applesauce or bananas, then slowing back down on the amount of fruit you put it?  Rice cereal has tons of vitamins and such!  Or at least mixing cereal into her formula....trick her into eating something solid and good for her :)

I have a picky 17 month old, and when he started throwing everything to the floor, we went and got a booster seat with a tray and got rid of the high chair.  It actually did help some.  I think it was right around his 1st birthday.  He's also just very much a handful.  He thinks its funny to throw his food, and he seems to enjoy watching us get into a tizzy over him not eating.  Sometimes we just have to accept he's being a pistol and he's not going to eat his lunch or dinner and he'll make up for it at the next meal.  But it isn't an ongoing issue at every meal like your daughter.
