playgroup
Okay...so now that winter is approaching, a lot of moms on here are seriously looking for things to do with their kids. I've been thinking about this for along time...Anyone interested in setting up a bi-weekly/monthly playgroup just for Michianamoms??
I know there are many other early childhood educated moms on this site, so what do you think about pulling our resources together and starting something up???? Jessica, can we do something like this under Michianamoms???

Absolutely! An official MichianaMoms playgroup would be a wonderful idea! I'd also be happy to post "the next MichianaMoms meetup is: ......." on the homepage. I can update that and do what I can to help "advertise" it to our members, but I'm not a great event planner, so someone else will need to take charge of the meetup specifics :)

It is a really good idea, I'm secondary education, but could help with planning. Try contacting some community centers that may allow open gym, classroom time i.e. Battell center. Lynn

wow it sounds great, I am new to the board but live south like lakeville,more lapaz. Would it be for a certain age? I have a young toddler? 20 months. I know its fresh and still up in the air, just thought I would say I was interested too. I am stay at home mom and might be able to help.
I babysit my 1 yr old niece
I babysit my 1 yr old niece fulltime and would be interesting in getting her involved in a play group. My daugthers are 8 and 9 so they are in school all day except for during vacations. I live in Rochester (45 mins south of south bend) but I was born and raised in south bend and visit there all the time.

We could try the skating rinks (ice, roller) and local hs for open swim times. That way we stay active and the kids can be as loud as they want. Sometimes non-for-profit groups are exempt from paying fees, I don't know how much of this is still true. We could all do some calling. Jessica can you post a giant calendar and if someone has a date and details she could fill it in then anyone interested could check it out? Lynn
Playgroups based on age?
I'd love to have a playdate with some other children. We live in an unestablished neighborhood and would love to get together with other mom's and children. It may be best to do so with children within a similar age group. Please contact me if you'd like to set up a playdate or group with us. My daughter is 5 years old and attends school three days a week (at Clay UMC in PRE-K)since she didn't meet the cutoff for Kindergarten at St.Joe Grade School. We'd love to meet out of have your children over. We have the space and the toys... we just don't have any neighbors! Thanks!
