Large Birthday Barbeque
Submitted by Mommyofmany on July 2, 2008 - 10:45am.
Ok so I am planning a huge barbeque for my husbands birthday there looks to be around 50-100 people there. I have the cake covered and we are serving hotdogs and hamburgers. I have asked for everyone to bring a dish so now I need a few cheap and easy things for the buffet table and I want it to look really good any ideas?

Birthday Bash
MommyofMany... Sounds like you have a lot of it planned. I know when I host big parties I end up cooking EVERYTHING by myself. When is the party?? Does he have favorite foods or dishes? I have hosted birthday parties, anniversary parties, just plan get together's. So I might be able to help with some ideas.

ideas!
How about attaching playing cards together with strips of construction paper on each side (to replicate the Alice in Wonderland guards), with heads and signs on the tummy indicating, veggies, salads, desserts, etc. This is manly enough and cute like little people helping you host. Or use a rock wrapped in tissue paper with a pennant flag sticking out to pretty much announce the same thing. I have lots of ideas pm me if you need more. have fun we love to do parties. we're having a "dive-in" movie for my daughter's birthday this sat. nite.Lynn
ah ha!

Ideas
Go to realsimple.com... omg.. they have every idea in the book! I love their magazine. We used a what would normaly hold a six bottle of beer holder to hold the ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc. Then used another one to put the forks, knifes and nakins in. Took up less space than doing it any other way.
Also, if you are thinking of keeping the bugs away, put up a small fan. On the today show they went over the best bug replenant and that was the best one.
