So I finally have a day off on Friday and am planning some one on one mommy and me time with my daughter (whoo hoo)! I was thinking of taking her swimming somewhere as she loves the water and thought it would be a nice change compared to what we usually do. Does anyone know of an indoor pool that is open in the afternoon, if I'm not a member of the Y can we pay a fee and use their facility?

I know you can if you are a guest of a member and there is a small fee but not sure if not. You could always ask if you could try out the pool for the guest fee and tell them you are considering joining. The South Bend YMCA has specific hours for family or open swimming. Check http://www.michianaymca.org/schedules.htm to get the specific times.

We are members of the YMCA and we pay $51.00/mo. straight out of our account. My husband loves it because he goes directly from work and exercises and later once the kids get home we meet him there for family swim. They have various schedules on the pool and the kids love it. If you just need some "me" time, they also have a kiddie room where you can exercise or swim alone and then swim as a family when you are finshed. The child watch room is part of your membership and they take children from (I believe) 6 mos. - 12yrs. If you are a non member and you just want to stop in, you can pay $6.00 and use the facility for one day. Also, you can tell them you are interested in becoming a member and you can ask for a day pass to try it out. Our kids really love it and it gives us something to do. Once you think about it, how many places can you go and enjoy as a family everyday of the month if you want to for just $50.00? I think it is worth it.
Thanks
