Digital Photo Books?
Has anyone ever made a digital photo/story book? What service did you use? How did you like the outcome? A lady I worked with had one made from her daughter's wedding and she was charged $600.00 (yes, you read that right!). It was really nice but I wasnt sure how the ones you do yourself are. I have most of my pictures uploaded on snapfish, but I'd be willing to upload them to another site if I get a good recommendation :) I'm thinking this might be a nice personable/sentimental Christmas gift and I like the idea of it being "actual book" pages, rather than stickers and embellishments that could possibly fall off after time...

I made one two years ago for the grandparents. I used My Publisher and it came out really nice. (plus everyone loved them) It was about $25 to $30 a book and I was able to get a lot of pictures in to it. It is a bit time consuming. Most sites (snapfish, walgreens, walmart, my publisher) start running specials around this time of year so keep your eye out.

I am a photographer and I use digital photo books as my proof books. They are so much nicer, stylish and you can show off your pictures with out lugging around a scrap book or photo album. I use apple aperture to design and order my books. Depending on what you want they can be anywhere from $30 on up. You can see them on my website, tiffanyrosephoto.com . Shutterfly
I've used shutterfly and it's easy. They even have a self-load option, so you upload and the site plugs all photos into the design book you've selected. They often run specials-no shipping- buy multiples and they reduce significantly. Excellent gifts and they ship direct. It rocks! Lynn
Mac
I have a Mac and use iphoto. Its wonderful. I have made 4 books so far. There is a book program built in. I tried it for our arizona vacation and was completely stunned at how amazing the book came out. I made two more after that. I made two hard covers and one soft cover. I used to scrap book but love the photo books instead. Flickr and shutterfly offer this service as well.
