I went to Main Street Pub on South Bend Avenue yesterday, had a cup of their chilli...It was soooo yummy! With the weather getting a little colder I want to make a good pot of Chilli for dinner soon. Does anyone have any good recipes for Chilli?

chili
We buy the Carroll Shelby's mix, it's in a little brown paper bag by the sloppy joe mix, etc. It's got lots of yummy spices, we add ground beef and red and chili beans. Serve it with some cornbread....yumm-o!
crock pot chili
This is a pretty easy one that I make, which is not too terribly spicy for the kids:
1-2 lbs. ground chuck
1 green pepper-chopped
1 onion-chopped
2 cans of diced tomatoes-I like to use chili style for added flavor
1 can tomato sauce
1 can water
1 can dark red kidney beans-drained/rinsed
1 can light red kidney beans-drained/rinsed
2-3 tbsp. chili powder
1-2 tbsp. garlic powder
hot sauce to taste
salt/pepper to taste
Brown the meat with the green pepper and onion in skillet and drain.
Pour the meat mixture to the crock pot, then add remaining ingredients. Stir and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high 4-5 hours. We like to dallop a little sour cream and shredded cheese on top and eat with crackers.
Enjoy!
