My husband obviously had Friday off, so we are enjoying a 3 day weekend!  The weather has been so nice too!  We've stayed home, nothing special....just relaxing and enjoying time with our kids. :)  We did have some friends over Thursday night for dinner, then did fireworks at their house.  We also did a few fireworks at home last night after the baby went to bed....Luke got to stay up late the last 2 nights to watch fireworks, so he thinks he's big stuff :)

What were your 4th of July weekend plans?  Did you travel or stay close to home?

4th of July fun

We drove up to Silver Beach in St. Joe, MI on the 4th, had a picnic, enjoyed the beautiful weather, played in the sand, dabbled in the frigid water,(well, my 2 oldest actually swam), got some ice cream, checked out the local shops through the windows, and stayed to watch the fireworks. It was a long day and night as we were totally exhausted from all the hauling of the beach gear and kids, but my 2 YO son ended our day with pure joy...His fascination with shaking a $1.00 green light stick in front of his face repeatedly...priceless :)

Today we went to my mom's house in town for a cookout, played some corn hole, took a walk, rode bikes. We again enjoyed some ice cream and then lit a few sparklers and fountains there and when we returned home. All in all a pretty good weekend..even if my kids did stay up way past bedtime 2 nights in a row as well! This time change is still insane :)

We went to LaPorte to the

We went to LaPorte to the parade. This year the flyover was completely awesome. It was unbelieveable. You could see the underneath of the jets flying over. They flew over so fast that they were gone before you heard the sound of the jets. We then went to my hubby's aunts for a cookout. We came home took naps and got up to watch fireworks. Olivia loved watching them. it was cute.

We just plan on relaxing and going back to work tomorrow. :(

Nice Family 4th of July

This was our first 4th of July with my family in a long time! We BBQ, played outdoors all day! It was a lot of fun. We even set up a wacky course of croquet (played over 2 hours) and played Frisbee for over an hour. We walked my parents neighborhood, talked, listen to music, enjoyed the patio. We also celebrated our now 12 year old son's birthday! His birthday is on the 5th but we celebrated it on the 4th and then took him white water rafting on the 5th for his birthday! A wonderful but tiring weekend.
