A friend just told me stay-at-home moms are worth $117,000 a year and we have over 30 job titles, so says Fox news. So I figured this mother's day I would ask for an advance on my salary!! And, I'll be sure to let my husband know in the last few years I haven't been indebting us $30,000 by not working but saving us so much more. I thought this was funny. Happy Mother's Day everyone. ....and I think most of us are owed some back-pay! :) Not only is asking for an advance a good idea, but I'd also like a raise because the kids have been a little crazy this week. But at the end of the day, I suppose an extra hug or two will do :)

Yes indeed....Let's unpack that little word, "mom." What exactly is her job description? She's a wife, mother, friend, housekeeper, interior decorator, laundress, chef, short order cook, chauffeur, painter, wallpaper hanger, seamstress, nurse, guidance counselor, internal affairs CEO, financial planner, travel agent, administrative assistant, disciplinarian, preacher, teacher, tutor, spiritual advisor, dietician, lecturer, librarian, fashion coordinator, private investigator, cheerleader, manicurist, pedicurist, landscaper, hair stylist, psychologist, plumber, computer programmer, automobile maintenance expert, referee and gift purchasing agent for both sides of the family. She may not get a salary, but the fringe benefits are invaluable: hugs, kisses, and buckets of love. And hopefully, one day a child that will call her blessed.
